The Book Of Eli

In a close future, America is totally destroyed by the final war. Highways, buildings, cities are torn apart. Only a few people survived this apocalyptic disaster, and the streets are taken over by bandits that won't hesitate to kill anyone they find for a simple shoe or a watch, food, or even for no reason at all.

Eli (Denzel Washington) is a traveler that only seeks peace, but will cut in peaces anyone who dares to attack him. He doesn't have this fierce attitude to protect his own life but to protect the last remaining copy of the Bible that he has been carrying for thirty years. He believes this Bible is the only hope for humanity, and engages himself in a journey to find a place where the Bible can be safe and where it can be multiplied again.

In the meantime, in every corner, there are gunmen and thieves that walk around the streets robbing people they find on their way, with the main purpose of finding the precious Book of Eli. They work for a man named Carnegie (Gary Oldman), that has a whole community of bandits at his service. In this ruined and corrupted world where there are no more schools or other sources of education, only Carnegie understands the power that Eli holds in his hands, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to take it from him. But it won't be easy to find the traveler that won't let anything stop him from reaching his goal.

Solara (Mila Kunis) is the adoptive daughter of Carnegie. She has a certain interest in Eli just like her father, but with another purpose: she wants to leave her father's territory and go with Eli to be able to live the experience of the outside world, although it is full of dangers.
